Pellet Therapy

What is Pellet Therapy?

Pellets are tiny, custom-compounded therapies for symptoms that stem from hormonal imbalances. This therapy keeps hormone levels consistent through the day and avoids rollercoaster-like effects from orally administered or topically administered hormones. The pellets we uses contains bio-identical hormones, derived from natural sources. The pellets contain hormones identical to the ones found in the human body. Studies have shown that bio-identical hormones have fewer side effects than synthetic hormones.

There are different pellets for each specific horomone that all contain the bioidentical hormone your body naturally creates. We use pellets to replace estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone for both men and women.

How is the Pellet Inserted?

Pellets are slightly larger than a grain of rice. The pellet is inserted just under the skin in the fatty tissue of the glute. Local anesthesia is used to numb the insertion area. A very small incision (<1cm) is made and the pellet is inserted under the skin. The incision is closed with sterile bandage strips. The procedure lasts only 10-15 minutes. Pellets dissolve on their own so there is no need for removal. New pellets are inserted every 3-6 months depending on your individualized treatment plan.
